La silvestre mujer
que la selva es su hogar
también sabe querer
también sabe soñar.
Celsa Ramirez. Harpist. Political prisoner of the Stroessner dictatorship from November 1975 to August 1978.
During the tortures, the police played the song India by José Asunción Flores to hide her screams and at the same time generate in her a rejection of music. However, she used this song to resist and cling to life. This lyric fragment represents her behind bars.
Her husband Derlis Villagra Arzamendia, a member of the Paraguayan Communist Party, who was arrested at the same time as her, is still missing to this day.
